Kheer, the most loved one

Kheer as we all know is everyone's favorite and the most loved dessert, full of creaminess & rich in nutrients because milk is used to make it. It is the most common sweet dish made by all mothers during any special occasion. so, as I am Bengali and Bengalis kheer (payas) recipe is the most famous one in the entire country. so, let's start with the recipe !!! ❤️




How to make Kheer

So, the ingredients that we require while making kheer are :



  1. 1 lit of full-fat milk.

  2. 1/2 cup of Sugar (varies according to your need).

  3. 1/4 tablespoon cardamom powder.

  4. 1/4 cup basmati rice.

  5. some nuts & raisins (as desired).



The next step is to wash the rice well under running water and then soak it in clean water for about 30 minutes.


Add the milk into a pot or a utensil that is suitable for it.

On medium flame, heat the milk and bring it to boil & when it turns hot stir the milk well with a large spoon.





Now drain the water from the soaked rice, add the rice into this boiled milk and keep stirring it to prevent the boil.










Cook until the rice gets soften. Keep on checking and prevent the rice from being over cooked.






Now, add sugar according to your taste & lower the flame and cook it until the kheer gets thicken.

Atlast add the nuts and raisins (chopped) and stir it well and cook for another 5 minutes.

And then after 5 minutes, switch off the gas and serve it with some garnishing of dry fruits and nuts.
