Poha recipe

A kind of Indian breakfast (quickly made) and healthy and tasty. Is made up of flattered rice (also k/as chura), onions, spices, lemon juice and peanuts. It requires a cooking time of 20 minutes. so, whenever you are getting late for your work or office or classes, then do try it. It will quickly end your appetite.




How to make Poha

Take 1/2 cup of Poha (flattered rice) and add it to a large container or a bowl and rinse them well with clean water for 2 min and drain the water, and keep the bowl aside





Now chop 1 medium-sized onion & 1-2 green chilies, which will be required in further processes. Also we require some coriander leaves and curry leaves. And if you also want to add potatoes you can use it.


Now take a pan and add 1/2 tablespoon of oil to fry the peanuts until it becomes golden and crunchy and keep them aside to cool down.




Now in the same pan add 1 and 1/2 tablespoon of oil to keep it hot and then add 3/4 tablespoon of mustard seeds and 3/4 tablespoon cumin seeds.


Now add the chopped onions, green chillies and curry leaves that we prepared earlier.


If you have used potatoes then after 2-3 minutes of frying the onions, you can add the potatoes and cook it for 3-4 minutes more until the potatoes are soft and get a golden colour.



Now add the soften poha into the pan and mix it well ith the other things.


Cover the pan for some hile on low heat to become the poha hot and cook it well. Now add the roasted peanuts, and take a lemon slice and its juice into it and mix well.


Garnish the dish with some coriander leaves and some roasted peanuts.
